Clinical Review Committee Letter of Intent Review

The Investigator submits a letter of intent including research budget, a schedule of study procedures, and CVs for all investigators and sub-Investigators to the Clinical Research Committee.  It is VERY HELPFUL for you to review the Clinical Review Committee review criteria before writing your letter of intent since any deficiencies will necessitate comment and revision.

The Clinical Research Committee reviews the letter of intent and recommends approval or rejection of the Letter of Intent to the Clinical Review Committee Chair who makes all final decisions regarding study approval. This information is communicated back to the Investigator through direct contact from the Clinical Research Committee within two weeks of the review.

If the letter of intent is approved, the Investigator submits a full, thorough research protocol to the Clinical Research Committee.  Even if approved, the Committee may have raised question/issues regarding the submission.  The Investigator should carefully review the letter of intent and budget to make sure that the requested corrections have been incorporated into the full proposal, and that the protocol is complete.
